ACKnowledgE Bronze Level: Architecture Certification & Knowledge for the Enterprise

ACKnowledge - Architecture Certification and Knowledge for the Enterprise - offers the latest in Enterprise Architectures, ITIL and Six Sigma. This program is a sequence of integrated workshops that is offered by industry and academic experts. It is open to professionals and a limited number of students.

EA 2The objective of the workshop sequence is to equip senior management and their teams with the most effective and consolidated frameworks for Business-IT aligned strategy and execution. All concepts will be re-enforced through case studies and team work products. Sample tests will be administered to those interested in future certification. The six workshop days are planned for July, and August. The cost of the entire integrated workshop sequence is $2,700. CETI membership and student discounts available.  All class sessions are from 8:30am to 4:40pm. Lunch will be served. Discounts (15%) are available for CETI’s industry members. At the end of the workshops you can optionally take certification exams. (Classes are subject to cancellation or rescheduling with prior notification.)

  • ITIL Foundation Workshop
  • Intro to Enterprise Architecture
  • Six Sigma and ACE Case Study

ITIL Foundation Workshop (for Certification): July 12th , 13th & 14th.

This three-day course provides an introduction to the 10 core ITIL processes of Service Support and Service Delivery plus the Service Desk function and Security Management. This course serves as a preparation for the internationally recognized Foundation Certificate examination. This one hour exam is comprised of 40 multiple choice questions and can be optionally taken at the conclusion.

  • An Introduction to the History of ITIL and Objectives, Interdependencies, and Results of ITIL Service Support.
  • Service Desk (Function), Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, Change Management, Release Management.
  • Service Level Management, Financial Management of IT Services, Capacity Management, IT Service Continuity Management, Availability Management.
  • Continuous Improvement Model, Review of ITIL Terms and Definitions.
  • Preparation for the Foundation Exam and Administration and Review of the Foundation Sample Exam.

Intro. to Enterprise Architecture: August 2nd, 3rd, 4th.

The objective of this workshop is to introduce the most current thinking Enterprise Architecture as a framework for decision-making and managing complex interactions between processes, organizations, assets, and components. Contents will cover:

  • Definitions and objectives of an Enterprise Architecture (EA) as a comprehensive tool for creating business value through life-cycle management of technologies and innovation.
  • Introduction to current national and international trends, lessons learned, successful approaches and vocabulary for the representation and use of EAs.
  • EA analysis techniques for identifying the impact of changing forces on the enterprise due to the environment – end customer requirements, competition, compliance and standards implications (such as SOX, BPEL, W3C), disruption due to emerging technologies (such as Service Oriented Architectures), etc.
  • Introduction to the use of architecture patterns (like business process transactions, adaptors, etc.) for the modeling a complex system of business processes and capabilities we call an Adaptive Complex Enterprise (or ACE) architecture.
  • Introduction to use of a particular architecture for performance-based analysis, decision-making and micro-targeting points of innovation and improvement.
  • Use of EA for the change and quality management using ITIL and Six Sigma.

Six Sigma White Belt Certification: The White Belt curriculum can serve as an initial belt on an individual path, or be provided as an Awareness Class to everyone in your organization. You will be required to pass an exam on this body of knowledge to be certified. An exam will be administered during the last 30 minutes of the time allocated. Once you have passed the exam, you will be awarded a Six Sigma White Belt Certificate.

Team Architecture Project and Presentations: A comprehensive ACE Case Study will be presented for problem solving in teams. This will exercise the application of materials presented during the earlier workshops. Team presentations required.
